well, here in England you at least have to walk in the rain
Songs on Saturday ~ Rain
rain can be peaceful, restful, and spiritual
After the umbrella post this morning I wanted to post something about rain, and Singing In The Rain is just a little cliched. This is different, peaceful, restful, and quite spiritual. I hope you like it as much as I.
You know what, I find this nice for meditation.
Please listen calmly.

one thing we get in England is rain
Songs on Saturday ~ Umbrella
prayer is asking for rain, and faith is carrying an umbrella
Many thanks to Paula Light for the inspiration for this post. https://wordpress.com/read/feeds/74951/posts/3126787418
Some say that am English Gentleman should always carry a tightly rolled umbrella.
And that sharing an umbrella with the one you love makes the sun shine on the rainiest of days.
All I know is that umbrellas are a damn nuisance on a crowded London street.
Please don’t do the hand jive to this cool song.
BTW I’m too sick to dance to this.

Tunes on Tuesday ~ Supertramp
it never rains but it absolutely chucks it down
Excuse the misquoted homily, but here in the north of England, saying that it’s pouring with rain is like a girl saying that she’s slightly pregnant. So from Supertramp we have It’s Raining Again, which it is. But it’s not raining my life, While I may have lost a friend, I have gained an new and much nicer friend.
I’ve driven a hell of a lot of I-15, from Southern California up into Wyoming.
I’m a fighter. Knock me down and I’ll just get up again.
Please listen with a smile on your face.
Try not to get very wet.
Unless you like that.

the old man can’t snore through the racket of raindrops on the roof

walking through rainstorms to be with the one you love
Summer in England 2020; doom, gloom, and rain. Would I walk five-thousand-miles through pouring rain and high winds to be on a lonely island with the one I love? Hell Yes! The one you love should be your precious angel and worth everything ~ else it isn’t really love at all.
Back in the day I learned a harsh lesson ~ you can’t beat City Hall. Right now there are some things I can’t do, and some things The Man is making me do that I’d rather not.
Some say we should always be the best person we can possibly be. And that the one you care for deserves the best of you, no matter what.
All I know is that I’ll make the best of things, and right now that means staying fit, strong, and healthy. In a few days I’m heading away from cold and rain to warmer and sunnier climes. Walking, swimming, yoga, Aegean sunshine, fresh mountain air, healthy food….. For a while I’ll be spending time working on becoming a physically better man.

Rain On Me
into every life a little rain must fall
Maybe I’ve been spreading things a little thin lately, because I seem to be living in a thunderstorm. Maybe this track by The Who says it.
And yet, I know that I am loved, and that there are some people I care for.
Please listen without getting wet.

only a fool goes out in the rain

Rain
and then the rain clouds came crashing into my life
~
well past midnight again
in a bar dismal and alone
looking out on hard rain
I’m feeling like hell in here
sadness, sorrow, and pain
she was ever the only one
can’t be scared of the dark
it’s pulling my heart apart
losing a girl you love hurts
let it rain on me, let it rain

some people enjoy the rain
others merely get wet
It’s Raining Cats and Dogs
Right now we’re having a vicious thunderstorm where I live, and it’s absolutely hissing down ~ raining cats and dogs.
without the rain there can be no life

some people feel the rain, others just get wet
England, this green and pleasant land, where it rains a lot.
Different from the parts of America, where it’s dusty and hot.
Clouds came floating unbidden into my life, not to carry the life-giving rain, but to hide the beautiful rainbow of love.
Please listen responsibly.

Rain in England
Rain, rain go away, come again another day.
Right now, where I live, it’s raining cats and dogs. That’s a bit of a shame because it means I’m going to be stuck in the garret until it eases off a bit. Going out in the rain and cold is one reason lots of us English people seem to have coughs and colds a lot of the time.
It’s going to rain for most of the day here, and in fact it’s raining over most of the UK. Our Met. Office have flood warnings posted for several coastal towns ~ luckily not right here.
A lot of Americans think that it rains all the time here in England. As a matter of fact, in comparison with some places in the world, we don’t get that much rain. On average, where I live we get about a couple of feet of rain in a year. In comparison, supposedly sunny Hawaii has an average of 5 feet of rainfall in a year. Perhaps Hawaii is not ever going to be right at the top of my bucket list.
Some say that it rains every day in England. And that we English must love the rain. All I know is that we do get a little sunshine, usually in the middle of July.
