Scenes on Sunday ~ First Light

By Dawn’s Early Light.

day’s aurora awakens, in first light blue

cold tranquil loneliness, still sea’s sibilance

solitary thoughts ever-changing, ever the same

stargazing aurora pale dawning

fantastic castles clouds imaginings

daybreak reverie slivered brightening

vulnerable warm softly slowly unfolding

delicate sensual transient fleeting touching

dawn horizon brightening adoration delighting

before we knew it, it was over, a memory, fleeting

dawn, rising like Venus from the waves

light as softly gentle as Aphrodite’s kiss

in this moment forget we are time’s slaves

Scenes on Sunday # 5

‘scape pictures.  Seascapes, cloudscapes, landscapes, cityscapes, roadscapes….

All the pictures were taken with a compact LUMIX Panasonic DMC-AS3 camera.  This camera is so small and smart I wonder why I’ve been carrying around about 10 pounds of photographic equipment…  I don’t photoshop these pictures.

These shots were taken in England, looking East, at or near first light.

to do today

P1040319

~

  1. Alone,  another night without sleep.
  2. Alone, watch the dawn breaking over the sea.
  3. Alone, resolve to do everything I can to make her happy.
  4. Alone, listen to the mournful cry of the wandering seabirds.
  5. Alone, wander along the beach listening to the rhythm of the surf.
  6. Alone, look back and see my footsteps disappear on the tide.
  7. Alone, watch low grey clouds driven by the westerly wind.
  8. Alone, wonder how it all came to this poignant solitude.
  9. Alone, feel the raindrops on my upturned face.
  10. Alone, feel the cold in the air and shiver.

Scenes on Sunday # 2

The second of what is going to be a regular Sunday Post of ‘scape pictures.  Seascapes, cloudscapes, landscapes, cityscapes….

All the pictures were taken with a compact LUMIX Panasonic DMC-AS3 camera.  This camera is so small and convenient that I can take it with me everywhere I go.  After decades of carting around heavy camera bags, something I can just stuff in my trouser pocket is a liberating revelation.

her lips like wine

and her eyes so blue

how can I convey

that

if she were mine

I would love her true

in so many ways

and

my girl would find

that I loved her more

each and every day

but

comes the dawn

and my dreams are gone

unrequited love is simply

swept away

I love my teddy bear

P1010716

~

Since I lost my old cat Pyewacket to an attack by a huge dog, I have taken to talking to my teddy bear, Marmaduke.

This may seem an odd thing for a grown man to do, but pets are not allowed in the apartment block I now live in.  No people are allowed in my place, and a guy has to talk with someone.

And you know what?  I’m certain that Marmaduke takes in every word, and would give me good advice, if he only could.

I know he loves spiritual feeling of the dawn coming up over the sea, and those last minutes before sunset, just as much as I do.

Marmaduke, my teddy bear and friend.
