Big Bear is a cool place to spend a long weekend

in the summer

no way I’m going up there at this time of year

I hate snow

  1. I hate snow too, that’s why I moved to sunny hot humid Florida 🙂

  2. Colette, I will talk with you any time, about anything, for just as long as you wish. ❤

    1. Thanks Jack… ❤️❤️❤️

I think I might bore you though. I am a Vegan, animal welfare activist who is really concerned about the environment too. While we have been chatting, I have been emailing (bombarding) DEFRA, Michael Gove, George Eustice and my own MP with my concerns about stuff dear to my soul. I am not sure that you would see that as particularly cool! 😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️

      1. Any strongly held belief is cool.
I may not agree with everything you hold as true or important, but I firmly respect your views.
I’m not vegan, I love cats and hate people who are cruel to animals, and I go to the sea to pray to the Mother Goddess for the blessings of this planet, every single day.
I hate politicians, like women with strong views, don’t like City Hall, love stiletto heels.
        I think you’re cool.
        ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

        1. My letters were over the cruel Badger Cull.
I like that you talk to Mother Goddess by the sea… It shows that you care about things. That makes you a nice person. I had two cats as pets… But I have never worn Stilletto heels… I’d likely fall off them and break my ankles. I love my walking boots. I have done the whole jet set thing, New York Banking district, and so on, and it is not for me. I am a simple girl with simple needs. But thanks for respecting my views. I respect yours too Jack. ❤️❤️❤️

        2. I used to always stay in the Plaza on 5th, sit at the front of the aeroplane, eat at the best places, and the staff always knew my name. Jet set, NYC, Paris, Rome, Chicago, Milan, London…..
I still like tall shoes, expensive perfume, and great restaurants.
I also like autumn leaves, the send of the sea, and the moonlight.
          We get along fine.
          ❤ ❤ ❤

          1. I stayed at the Marriot in Times Square, but it was on an expense account of a company that flew me to NY in a business Lear Jet. No one knew my name 😂.
Peace and harmony to you Jack. ❤️❤️❤️

  3. The cards that you chose for me are very positive, and yet I need to be wary and careful. There is a lot more to what’s going on with me and my situation than at first seems apparent. Luckily I am strong on self-discipline, hard work, and perseverance.
Deep down I am torn by an inner conflict, and as you would expect it involves travel and a woman.
You seem to have the gift.
    The cards came to you.
    Thank you for this.
I think you are a mirror to me, opposite and complementary.
    How cool

  4. While I know Big Bear is in Northern California, the pics have made me feel a little homesick for Canada (I lived there for over twenty five years). I used to go camping in a park called Kilbear. It was on a lake with many small granite Islands. It is an old ground populated originally by Huron Indians. On hot summer evenings I used to go and lie on the huge granite rocks by the shore, watch the sun go down, and gazillions of stars come out. One year, I was treated to the eerie green and yellow glow of ribbons of aurora borealis. Another, I was there for the firefly show, and another, a meteorite shower. I long sometimes for the simplicity and beauty of those moments. I suppose it is more commercial now, but it used to be magical in late September when it was almost empty of people and it was possible to have raccoons, skunks, chipmunks and all manner of critters come into your camp site.
I haven’t been camping for years, but your pictures brought all those lovely memories flooding back. ❤️❤️❤️

    1. You made me smile with your lovingly evocative descriptions of your memories. ❤
There is something magical and other-worldly in your words, as though while you were there in Kilbear, the spirits of the Huron entered your soul and took you back to a place they alone knew.
I believe you were blessed. ❤
I also believe you have psychic powers you don't often let show.
Thank you for sharing your inner world. ❤ ❤ ❤

      1. Well, I am a Scorpio… They are said to be psychic as well as passionate about stuff. I would say that occasionally I pick up on things, but I am certainly no fortune teller.

The Huron Indians were peaceful agricultural tribes and evoke the long hair, and soft deer skin dress sort of image. They were the most benign of all the tribes, unlike the algonquin people who often raised the Huron settlements.
Eventually, when the settlers came from the old world, the Huron joined forces with other tribes to resist the White men, but history shows that they were all subdued eventually. I once went to a Huron shamanic evening to listen to drum banging and drink tea made from cedar needles. It was a lovely colourful evening but a little surreal as the performers changed out of their traditional costumes and put on jeans and leather jackets. 😂❤️

        1. I’m an Ares, so any connection between you and I is going to be intense, passionate and fiery….. 😉 ❤ Personally, I am more than just a little psychic.
The deeper culture of Native Americans is fascinating, but seems to be subsumed by their natural desire to enjoy the material fruits of the American Way of Life.
The two should be able to exist in harmony, just as the spiritual unseen world coexists with day to day life.
A deeper talk with you would be enchanting.
          All love ❤ ❤ ❤

          1. But we might argue… 😉
Actually I have always got along with Aries people that I know… I am supposed to be compatible with Cancer, but that compatibility has proved to be fleeting for me.

Ah, being Psychic is not always a boon Jack. From experience I know that being aware that people you call friends are really back stabbers can leave you feeling paranoid. I have an example (in my life) that I was able to prove after confronting my subtle attacker years later. I lost my job because of stuff like that. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss. ❤️

        2. I don’t think you’d get along with a boring but argumentative Cancer male at all.
Mostly I ‘ignore’ or ‘turn off’ my weird intuition. But, right now it’s fully active, and that’s bordering on scary.
I have even started to explore the Tarot.

          1. Tarot cards are pretty accurate usually. While a little vague on detail, they have an uncanny ability to reflect what is happening to your emotional state.

I would say, having read a lot of your posts (bu admittedly not all) that your intuition exposes a lot of truths in others that you don’t find pleasant. You know that they haven’t been honest with you.

          2. I went to my favourite Tarot card website

and pulled these 6 cards for you Jack… Thinking about your trip to New Mexico and getting along with your friend on your trip. I have to share it because it looks very positive…

Card 1: How you feel about yourself »
            The High Priestess

You are very aware of the feminine power within, intuitive and conscious at a spiritual level, looking for guidance and answers, a secret to be revealed. You desire a wise guide to help address your questions, and your intuition is just that.

If you are male, the appearance of The High Priestess can represent a woman who you care for very much and who truly inspires you.

Card 2: What you want most right now »
            The Hierophant

Right now you want to have someone around you that you can trust and confide in, knowing that they won’t let you down.

There are moral issues here, knowing right from wrong, and you may feel that you need some advice or wise counsel from a teacher, priest, parent or someone you have a lot of respect for, in order to help you make the right decision.

            Card 3: Your fears »
            The Sun

You are afraid that things seem too good to be true, so much pleasure and joy – well enjoy it, sometimes we can be pleasantly surprised!

If you have been unwell this is a time of rejuvenation and good health. Perhaps you are afraid that things won’t actually get better – have faith you are about to enter a happy and pleasurable time.

The Sun heralds an ending to difficulties and a time to celebrate with friends and loved ones, a time of pleasure and good news around children or the conception or birth of a longed-for baby.

Card 4: What is going for you »
            The Moon

Despite the fear and bewilderment you feel, and the seeming difficulty of the path you have chosen, keep going – all will eventually turn out fine.

The Moon is a good omen if you are in a clandestine affair; it also shows us how to be open to new and unexpected possibilities.

Card 5: What is going against you »
            The Chariot

Watch out for being too arrogant or letting that ego of yours get overinflated. Nobody likes a know it all.

Watch that temper too. Aggressive bullying behaviour will only set you back. If this doesn’t sound like you, beware of someone like this who could set you back.

This is a time of movement and change, and conflicts ending in victory, so don’t give up.

Card 6: The likely outcome »
            The Magician

This is a period of positive action with great potential. You are full of self-belief, feeling very empowered and will have the ability to think on your feet.

The Magician is an excellent omen for success: it’s time to show everyone exactly what you’re made of.

          3. As you can see, because I pulled the card, my femininity influenced them. But I focused on your situation while shuffling the deck and choosing the cards. Try it yourself and see if it comes close? For my own cards… They are vastly different to what I pulled for you, because I am being indecisive and dragging my feet on something. My cards have all been giving similar messages for months. That is what I mean about your actual emotional state influencing the cards you choose.

Oh, and yes, we Scorpios can talk and talk, and talk and talk….. talk…… talk…… 😂😂😂❤️
