President Trump Disrupts Britain

To be an ideal guest ~ stay at home.

Have you ever had one of those house guests you wish had never turned up at all?  Well it seems that President Trump is less than an ideal candidate for a State Visit to the United Kingdom.

To be fair, this great country’s Queen Elizabeth II has hosted some very unsavory and embarrassing characters on previous state visits to her United Kingdom: from Mobutu Sese Seke in 1973, (then the president of Zaire), Robert Mugabe, in 1994, and Xi Jinping the leader of China in 2015.  At least Mr. Trump isn’t a homicidal maniac who has criminalised homosexuality or stopped women from being educated or voting.

Mr Trump is merely ill-mannered, badly educated, and prone to saying what he really thinks.  Really, in no way a typical polite and cultured American.

The president broke Royal Protocol three times when he visited the 92 years old Queen at Windsor Castle.  Firstly he kept her waiting for a quarter of an hour in 80 degree heat, he refused to bow to the Queen, instead shaking her hand, and the he turned his back on the monarch and walked ahead of her when inspecting the guard of honour.  You know what? You just don’t do that here.

An Englishman thinks all American males are ignorant, boorish, and uneducated ~ Trump proves it.

A significant proportion of the population of these Islands have protested against the President’s state visit; thousands of fucking stupid protesters have hit the streets in a display of left-leaning-liberal indignation, (including the leader of our Labour Party, the facile Jeremy Corbyn.)  I’m not certain what English law says about banners that use Fuck and Cunt in their slogans, but that was deemed perfectly acceptable in the anti-trump demonstrations.  A million people, (allegedly), have signed a petition to stop this state visit.

Meanwhile, the supposedly completely independent BBC has taken advantage of every opportunity it could find to denigrate President Trump, his State Visit, and America in general.  It’s appalling that this state-funded broadcaster has lowered itself to the same level as those ignorant rent-a-mob street protesters.

In an interview with the Sun newspaper here, Mr Trump also enraged Brexit Remainers by saying that Prime Minister Theresa May had wrecked Brexit.  And you know what?  This president says it like it is, and more often not he’s right.  As Prime Minister Mrs. May is as much use as a concrete life-preserver ~ no good at all.

So, President Trump’s State Visit has enraged some, but their petty indignation says more about their narrow-minded, juvenile attitudes that it does about Mr. Trump.

Some say that if you don’t agree with someone, you should stop them from talking.  And, that if you take to the streets and protest loudly enough you will force ‘the authorities’ to sit up and take notice.  All I know is that I like Mr. Trump better than I like the people protesting his visit to this Great Britain.

  1. Mr. Trump is a huge embarrassment to America. I respectfully point out that Russia hacked into our election process and enabled his election. I do agree he was highly disrespectful to HM The Queen, however you may not be aware that American citizens do not bow nor curtsy to anyone. I have great regard for the monarchy but would still never do so myself because she is not my Queen. I hope you understand. Only citizens of the UK should accord this level of respect.

    1. I agree that almost everything about Mr. Trump’s presidency is just so very wrong. I say almost, because from time to time, I find myself agreeing with something he’s said. For example, he was right about Brexit ~ Mrs May is a huge failure when it comes to getting Britain out of the European Union.
I won’t bandy issues of Royal Protocol with you ~ even as an Englishman I don’t really understand it.
Thank you for your insightful comment.

  2. Peaceful protest is the right of a democracy, I’m sure Mr Trump is working hard to take this right from the free world.

    1. I’m certain he’s been thinking about it, at least.
But, in some parts of the world you’d probably just disappear if you tried to stage a peaceful protest.
Thank you for your comment Sweetheart. ❤ ❤

  3. I’m grateful for this man…he keeps my mom entertained. I can’t stand him because it amazes me to know a person who thinks can follow him blindly. Yes, some of his thoughts are good…most of them are total dross (good word!).
YOU also have class. And we hear (but no actual visual proof) that you can also dance. :o) xoxoxoxoxo

  5. The current US presidency will enter history as either a complete disaster or a revolutionary shake up of politics as usual. It can also be both.

  6. “Mr Trump is merely ill-mannered, badly educated, and prone to saying what he really thinks.  A typical American really.”
You are entitled to your opinion, but this Idiot is in NO WAY representative of a typical American. He does represent some of our lowest life forms, but I will not quietly accept that he represents the majority of Americans. I guarantee you are no more outraged by his abhorrent behavior than I. He has become the worst Reality Show I have EVER seen. Unfortunately with this one, I can’t just turn off the television. This Idiot does NOT represent, or speak for me, no matter what title he has.

  7. It strikes me that the challenge with someone like Trump is how one can maintain one’s own sense of self and not let his influence allow a decline in your own values. He may have a sense of business but is not very morally agile or understanding of ‘difference’. My general observation of the protesters is that this is their stance but are risking sounding like him. I’d much rather Ghandi’s but the public vote for a man like Trump and so he does represent something for the population as do our very disagreeable politicians who talk but don’t walk the walk- hence the destruction of societies support structures in this country- Health, protection (police) and education under the guise of austerity.

    1. All around the world President Trump is regarded as a bad joke, and yet he is the democratically elected leader of the USA ~ the world’s largest economy with the world’s most powerful military…..
The politicians here in the UK just disgust me, they don’t even have Mr. Trump’s insane convictions of purpose ~ they are just self serving political pygmies.

  8. Oh my…Orange Man did all that! He is disrespectful to dismiss the Queen in that manner. There are local rules to observe. Thankfully he behaved when he was here. Biggest faux pas for Trump was when he greeted our PM LEE as PM Jokowi. Sheesh!
