Scenes on Sunday ~ P.S.S. Wingfield Castle

Built in 1934 as a Humber Estuary Ferry, this historic paddle steamer is now one of 3 museum ships moored in the marina just a couple of hundred yards from my garret.  In the summer I often go aboard her to read, relax, and sunbathe on the upper deck.  Marmaduke likes sunbathing and reading there too ~ he usually sits in one of the lifeboats.  (The square-rigger in the background is the frigate HMS Trincomalee, which is the second oldest ship still afloat.)

  1. I was mesmerized by the beauty of this lady. (I think ships are female….) What a wonderful spot to hang out in, I’m glad you shared it with us.
A museum ship sounds fascinating! What a fun world you walk and sunbathe in!

    1. Ships are always female ~ unless you are German, and what do they know?
On a warm and sunny day the upper deck is a great place to sit, read, sunbathe, or just daydream. Below decks the little restaurant / cafe is good retreat.
In some ways I do live an ideal life ~ but I think I would prefer to spend more time in California, (in our winter). ❤ ❤ ❤

  6. Jack, I didn’t see a place to comment on the post where you expressed your crippling anxieties. I hope you will chk out EFT or Tapping on Youtube and get one of the bks by Nick Ortner. Will make all the difference, and give you hope for the new year.
