Food on Friday ~ Summery Pink Drinks

Pink isn’t just a colour, it’s an attitude.

I saw a girl driving a shocking pink car today.  It could have been worse, it could have been a guy driving a shocking pink car.  (It could have been the Pink Panther.)  I started to wonder if anything really looked good in pink, and I came up with pink drinks for a summer’s weekend.

Well, actually you could drink these pink drinks at any time of the year, but I think they all look very summery and cooling for a stinking hot and humid day.

And yes, there are cocktails called The Pink Panther, the recipes vary, but girls should beware of all of them.

The ever elegant Heather Christo has some very ‘cool’ drinks recipes, including; spicy watermelon sangria, cherry pomegranate ginger vodka lemonade, and this really pretty in pink watermelon cucumber gin lemonade.

Tieghan Gerard from Half Baked Harvest has some really great looking ‘pink drinks’ too; frozen watermelon rosé sangria slushies, raspberry rosé tequila kombucha, and this vicious sounding jalapeno bloody mary.

San Diego girl Averie Sunshine has a drink that’s sort of pink in this Malibu sunset, which is made with pineapple and orange juice, coconut rum, grenadine, with some added cherries.  Malibu Coconut Rum is a pretty cool spirit with lots of mixers; try it with Coca-Cola for a different tasting Cuba Libre.

At Honestly Yum Todd has this cool and very pink watermelon, fresh herbs and sotol cocktail.  Sotol is from Mexico, it’s a bit like tequila, only crazier.

Seattle girl Heather, the Flourishing Foodie has this recipe for a rhubarb collins, and she also tells us how to make simple syrup ~ an essential ingredient for many, many long cocktails.

Chungah at Damn Delicious has this dead easy and very refreshing strawberry thyme prosecco ~ I love that Chungah uses limoncello in this recipe.  This drink is very pink indeed.

And finally for now, found in Allrecipes magazine, we have this recipe for Jewel’s watermelon margaritas created by Rainbow Jewels.  How cute.

Please always drink responsibly ~ you know it makes sense.  Girls, beware apples laced with anything alcoholic, narcotic, or soporific.

  3. I live in Florida and believe me, many men wear pink here….it’s like the state color or something, I swear. I thought you didn’t approve of drink Jack? But then I didn’t know you were into silver daggers either…..I leave you alone for two days and look what happens….argh……You don’t have Marm tied up and gagged in the closet do you? He is a good influence…gotta keep the bear around ❤

    1. I have a pink vest, (short-sleeved pullover), that I only ever wear in places like Florida. Pink is far too wussy for England. Drink, silver daggers, erotic wicked witches… I have hidden depths. ❤ ❤ ❤

      1. I think I see the softer side of Jack (pink vest included…real men wear pink) and now waiting to see some writes on the above darker side too….more more more….. ❤

  5. Simply pink, simply divine! Aahh Pink Panther…my other favorite cat plus I saw a macho man arrive in a pink lotus the other day!! Whoo hoo!! Maybe he took his wife’s car or girl’s – he was in his 40s! 😃

    1. I think the Pink Panther is so damn cool…
On the other hand, a macho man in a pink car ~ not cool at all, not even a Lotus, and I am a big fan of Lotus.
Maybe he was metrosexual, or bisexual, or gay…
      ❤ ❤ 😉

      1. I think so too!! I used to have a 6 foot Pink Panther stuffed toy and he sat on my bed. But Garfield kicked him out and reigned supreme. There is only room for one specie of feline😝🙃…our lil red dot has heaps of rich blokes with luxury cars…you should see the Bentleys too driven by old fuddy duddies! Lol!! If I ever see that macho dude in pink Lotus, I’d stop and ask😎😉…might be his mum’s!! Seriously our old folks here drive sports cars!!😀

  6. Were it not for the fact that I don’t do anything stronger than an occasional glass of sherry or wine, I would love to try these … they look cool, refreshing and pretty! But, I will stick with coffee and a spot of sherry now and then, for it keeps my mind clearer and my body healthier. 🙂

Love ‘n hugs, dear Jack!!! ❤

    1. You can make non-alcoholic versions of most cocktails ~ but that’s missing the point a little bit. Love ❤ ❤ ❤
