Food on Friday #26 ~ Noodles

Noodles?  Noodles you ask?  What can one do with noodles except boil them?  You would be surprised.  No, you are going to be very, very, surprised.

Cooking with a Wallflower, (aka Andrea), has these basil garlic noodles, which she says is a 25 minute dish.  I believe her, and I believe these will make a great midweek dinner.  Even my friend in SoCal has time to make this dish, and I know she loves garlic.

Another very easy dish, this time from the Flourishing Foodie, ramen noodle stir fry, really this is a 20 minute one pan meal ~ brilliant for the single person, like me.

The White On Rice Couple, Todd Porter and Diane Cu, have a dish I am going to try very soon; pork and kimchi noodle stir fry.  This is a 30 minute dish ~ for a single guy living alone, a 30 minute stir fry is brilliant!

And now for something completely different from Cookie + kate pesto squash noodles and spaghetti with burst cherry tomatoes, nice…  This is a 30 minute vegetarian / vegan dish, and I love cherry tomatoes.

Well, I’m certain my friend in Orange County will love this dish from Anne at Tasting Everything; bright and healthy coconut soup with rice noodles and mussels.  On the other hand, I can’t see my friend making this for herself, so maybe I’ll cook it for her the next time I visit SoCal.

From Jessica Merchant at How Sweet It Is, there’s this delicious sounding 30 minute crispy salmon with creamy basil noodles.  Another one my California Girl would enjoy, when she can find the time.

For the more adventurous, what about black rice noodles?  Petra at Food Eat Love has a gloriously simple recipe for black rice noodles with bacon and mushrooms.  Hmmm, wonder if I can buy these things in my backward donkey town.

And finally for this Friday, Chung-Ah, (Damn Delicious), has 10 quick-fix Asian noodle recipes to share, including Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta.  Sounds great!

I feel as though I should end this post with a picture of Kung Fu Panda, and his dad’s secret ingredient noodle soup…  But, here’s a picture of Marmaduke posing in front of a local restaurant instead.  Really, the restaurant is aboard that paddle steamer ~ and really, it’s not so good.

    Happy Friday folks!

I’d usually have something funny or uplifting to help usher in the weekend but this week I’ve got nothing! My mind has been mush the past few days so I’m sharing someone else’s handiwork instead.

If you’re in the mood to spice things up a food-wise, the following post has many awesome ideas. And since it’s the weekend, what better time to experiment. Turn on the fire, heat things up, toss things around and dig in, ENJOY!!! 😀

I love noodles. I make a pretty good chicken chow mein (better than the local Chinese restaurant)
