There is a tide in the affairs of men, Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and miseries.
It had been my intention to completely kill off the identity, the internet identity of jackcollier7. It transpires that this was not as easy as I thought it should be. To begin, although I thought I had utterly destroyed the email address; firstname.lastname@example.org I had done nothing of the sort. I had merely hidden the damn thing ~ emails were still merrily ending up there.
This above all; to thine own self be true.
This website / blog is / domain is irrevocably registered as jackcollier7.com The world and his dog knows my nom de plume Jack Collier ~ I have books published under that name. Comments and ‘likes’ about my blog posts were still going to jack collier. And, that’s only the stuff I’ve discovered without really investigating.
(there are over 2500 unread emails in the jackcollier7 inbox)
Therefore, I shall bow to the inevitable. Jack Collier is my pen name, and shall remain so. Jack is not a person, has no thoughts or opinions of his own, and will not take the blame for anything whatsoever.
Jack Collier is not my real name. He is not me, although I was getting close to having a real Dissociatve Identity Disorder. Jack Collier is just a label, nothing more and nothing less. What you really get is Gordon Burrows.
No legacy is so rich as honesty.
