Many young men and women from the British Empire would not live to see a double rainbow, the symbol of transformation.

908,371 killed

2,090,212 wounded

28,000 unidentified British dead

160,000 (approx) women were widowed

350,000 (approx) children lost their father or mother

A generation of young women saw only one in five find a husband

The Great War, The War To End All Wars, ended at 11am on 11th of November 1918

Henry John (Harry) Patch, the last Fighting Tommy died on 25th of July 2009.  He never spoke of the war until 1998
